Testimonials
"The Rapid has distinguished itself as a leader in sound management of its resources, innovative ideas, and national recognition among its peers and others in the transit community. I believe that the request being placed on the ballot for May 2007 is certainly necessary to insure that those who need transportation can get to their jobs, education, and health care. With the opening of Metro Health in Wyoming this fall, there is also a critical need to insure that many of Metro Health's employees and clients have the transportation necessary to get there. Public Transit continues to gain favor in West Michigan and I join others in hoping that this measure passes on the first round."

“The Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously (save one abstention) to publicly endorse the millage renewal/increase issue for The Rapid this May 8th.
The Chamber believes that the Interurban Transit Partnership has been a very good steward of the tax revenues it has received over the last number of years and has produced an outstanding transit system for Greater Grand Rapids as evidence of that. Another mark of success has been the significant, increasing ridership on The Rapid, showing that the public is also supporting the ITP. Increased routes and expanded schedules have made the system that much more effective.
We also feel that every great city in the world has a good, effective public transportation system. The further development and expansion of The Rapid is essential to attracting and retaining business investment in Our Town. It's also vital to making the Grand Rapids area a great place to live. The increased millage is modest and The Rapid has shown it will create a solid return on the investment. The Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber urges a YES vote for The Rapid on May 8.”
